DEPOSITS

 KURANAKH

The Kuranakh deposit is located in the north west of the Amur Region, at a distance of 35 km from the railway station Olekma, which in its turn is situated on the Baikal Amur Mag­istral rail line (BAM).
The license covers an area of 85 km2.
The main products of Kuranakh mine:
•    Iron ore concentrate, in the form of titanomagnetite, with a average iron content of 62% and a high vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) content (up to 1 %);
•    Ilmenite concentrate with TiO2 content of 48-52 %.
The ilmenite concentrate was tested thoroughly by spe­cialists from the German companies SGA and Sachtle-ben and shown to be suitable for the production of high-quality TiO2.
The Kuranakh deposit is developed through open pit mining and beneficiation plant is situated 4 km from the railway station Olekma.
Design capacity
0.9mtpa titanomagnetite concentrate;
0.29mtpa ilmenite concentrate
 
BOLSHOI   SEYM
The Bolshoi Seym deposit is located 27 km west of the Mostovaya railway station on the BAM railway, and 36 km from the Kuranakh deposit. At Bolshoi Seym, the licence covers an area of 26km2. In 2010, explorati on fieldworks were completed and a report is being prepared. Potentially economic mineralisation at Bolshoi Seym comprises massive ilmenite and magnetite. Massive mineralisation comprises 90-99% (by volume) of ilmenomagnetite, magnetite and ilmenite.
 
KIMKANSKOYE AND SUTARSKOYE
K&S is located in the EAO, c.40 kilometres from the Chinese border, 4km to the west of Izvestkovaya railroad station on the Trans-Siberian Railway, which connects directly to China. Production is planned to start in 2013.
Design capacity: 3.2 mtpa iron ore concentrate.
